Whilst we encourage everyone to raise for one of the official charities you are welcome to raise for whomever you want.
The Hadland Foundation
The Hadland Foundation is a charity formed by the Hadland Care Group to help families in need across Somerset, Dorset and Hampshire. The charity acts to relieve the needs of individuals in the community who by reason of their age, infirmity or disablement, financial hardship or social and economic circumstances, cannot independently achieve emotional stability or a quality of life.
Projects are flexible to adapt to individual circumstances and to support families in crisis. Examples of assistance from the foundation can include help to receive the appropriate care for mental health concerns, young parents and children at risk, or elderly family members in need of equipment to help basic living requirements. Those benefiting from donations can receive days out, respite placements and emergency accommodation, healthcare, counselling and other elements of care.
With dramatic funding cuts across the community the Hadland Foundation aims to provide the additional support necessary to assist our local families in need.
Victoria Education Centre and Sports College
VEC specialises in providing education, care and therapy for pupils with physical difficulties, predominantly cerebral palsy and muscular dystrophy and also has expertise in helping children who have acquired head injuries.
It was recognised as a specialist sports college in September 2007 and in 2009 OFSTED called our sports “outstanding”. As London prepares to host the Paralympics in 2012 our dream is to see students competing as part of Team GB.

Julia’s House is Dorset’s only hospice dedicated to children with life-limiting conditions. The majority of the children we care for are unlikely to live beyond the age of 18.
Complementing the work of the Julia’s House Community Team, which consists of nurses and carers who travel the county, the children’s hospice provides life-changing support for families both in their own homes and in the hospice itself.
Receiving less than 10 per cent of our funding from the Government, Julia’s House relies on the Dorset community to help raise the remainder of our required income.
In 2012, we estimate that it will cost nearly £2.7m to continue to provide our vital services.
